Starting at 2:00 p.m. with a grand unveiling of a wall memorial depicting names of those that lived on and worked on the ranch\, focusing on their culture and the legacy they have left.  Many of their descendants will be on hand to tell us stories. \nThe event will also have children’s activities such as games and crafts\, music\, entertainment\, exhibits\, horses\, and food. Guests can go through the Victorian house and see an exhibit about the ranch laborers\, learning about their history and culture as a glimpse of long ago. \nThe exhibit runs through December 10\, 2023.  The event and exhibit is free and open to the public. \n  \n

Ray Harris’s “Ventura County Fair” captures the spirit of a cherished annual event\, and teen artist Wren Stepan’s “Queer Joy” provides an insightful glimpse into the county’s diverse identity. \nThe exhibit culminates with a mural conceived and executed by Vita Art Center Teens\, encapsulating the collective memory of Ventura County. This year’s selection is Solito\, by Javier Zamora. Solito is Zamora’s memoir of his migration from El Salvador to the United States at the age of nine.
